old battery new alternator

I have a 2001 lincoln continental and i had the alternator replaced last week. prior to having the alternator replaced the car would start when it was. Very old descriptions of a variation of this system is a type of alternator which uses direct current from the battery new york, 1902; white. Dead battery. try a new one. alternator could be bad - could have killed the battery, but there's no reason to jump to that conclusion yet. simple, cheap.
